另外，美语的语法相对英语要宽松一些——
英语： I have seen this film already.
美语： I have seen this movie already. 或 I saw this movie already.
以上的范例，英语中 saw 的用法是错误的，但美语中可以。
前置词用法稍有不同——
英语： at the weekend, in a team
美语： on the weekend, on a team
动词时态的用法不同——
在英语里，gotten 这个单词很少被用到，在美语中却非常常用。例句： If you hadn't gotten up so late, you might not have gotten into this mess.
“to”的省略——
在美语中，“to”经常会被省略掉： I'll write her. 英语中必须用完整的： I'll write to her.
“the”的省略——
在指定的情况下，英语中可以省略“the”：比如 in hospital （指定病人）， at university （指定学生）。美语中，必须使用 in the hospital, at the university.
日期的使用：英语中必须用 the，比如 the 11th of July, July the 11th，美语中省略 the。
“in the future”的用法——
在英语中： in the future 表示在未来的某一时刻， in future 表示从现在开始。 在美语中通用 in the future 来表示这两种意思。
特定单数名词——
英语： Sport
美语： Sports
英语： Maths
美语： Math

基本上先说这些吧，其他还有很多很多的不同。- -
比较好玩的是，澳大利亚的英文介于英语和美语之间。Orz....
最后还要说一点，国内的学校虽然发音通常是 Chinglish，但语法大部分都用的英式用法。这就造成了一些困惑。
一直到来澳洲以前，我一直认为橡皮擦的说法是 rubber。后来才知道正确用法应该是 eraser，因为 rubber 一词在美语中，意思为保险套。而 eraser 则在美语和英语里都表示橡皮擦。
貌似单词的拼写方面也有点问题。依稀记得我出国前，一直是拼写 color 的。依照英式教材，这是错误的。-_-!
另外关于发音。虽然发音是中式发音，但中式发音的声调更接近与美语，这就给国内学生的口语和听力造成了很大的问题。英式发音的声调是非常古怪的。美国佬经常拿英式口音来开玩笑。。。 我每次看英国电影电视剧都有想咬舌头的冲动。。。 >.< 幸好澳大利亚的口音接近英语但声调接近美语，嘿嘿。 30 มกราคม Mind DefragmentationOn one of my regularly visited forums there was a thread titiled 'The Day After Tomorrow' for discussing the rare occasion of the snowy situation in China at the moment. Coincidentally, the day before yesterday was significant to me as well. It was like hell. 明天凌晨就要回国了，这几天我却一直在弄网站，累晕了快。已经好几天没好好的睡觉了…… 27 พฤศจิกายน 微软，什么时候你才懂怎么做人性化的软件？近年来我对微软的软件颇有微词，虽说微软创造了许多优秀的软件，但在这之中，总是夹杂着令人嗤之以鼻的臭虫。
已经发生过好多次了，在我打完Spaces上的blog后，发现“Publish entry”是灰色的。我必须将内容拷贝起来，然后重新添加。在web 2.0的时代，很难想象一个如微软这样的大公司，在Spaces这个重要的social networking网站上，会有着各种各样的莫名bug。
刚才在几个他人的blog中留言。突然觉得自己用的英文真名很不欢乐，大部分人其实都不知道我英文是啥名。于是准备在Profile里修改。这才想起几个月前我就尝试过修改昵称了，然而，微软他老人家不乐意。每次修改Profile均会提示The service is temporary unavailable。真是令人火起。
讨厌的臭虫还不止这些。
前几天微软开放live.com的注册，我虽然已经在几个月前通过微软网站的漏洞注册过几十个帐号了，但既然是官方的正式开放，我于是便前去看看。当我细心的填完表格，按了提交后，网页提示：

Fxxk!!! 这种情况很恼火。恼火点一：既然注册没有开放，为何不在之前的页面里就提示，或者干脆将注册页面暂时关闭，偏偏是要等用户输入完一大堆注册信息后，才提示？！微软的程序员们你们到底懂不懂HCI (Human Computer Interaction)？！？！
恼火点二：“Error code: 31”？这到底是给谁看的？Windows 98的蓝屏已经是历史性的笑话了，难道还不够么。出错代码只有程序员才看得懂，放在源代码里就好了，偏偏要显示出来。
恼火点三：“Please try again.” Try你妹啊！我试了好几次都不行，很明显是程序员在捣浆糊，既然要花许多时间在修复注册系统，就不要让我们try again。而是应该给我们一个ETA。
这只是最近遇到的令人恼火的微软软件。在日常生活中还有许多微软的丑陋的软件习性。作为半个程序员的我，难免要喷几句的。
David Pogue在2006年做了一个非常著名的演讲，这个演讲非常的有趣，主题是“Simplicity Sells”。演讲中不乏比较微软和苹果在软件设计上截然不同的理念。
我强烈推荐有兴趣的朋友去看看。微软在GUI设计上真的是比苹果要落后好多年。Youtube上搜索一下就能找到微软的Vista的许多新功能，在OS X上已经实现了好几年了……
我是苹果的fanboy没错，但我平常花大量的时间在Windows上。还是希望Windows进步的。虽说Vista对我来说，是退步。我的Q6600+4GB RAM的系统现在还是在用XP。

今天早上去中国领事馆办事，原本排了几张，结果发现忘记放SD卡了。草的咧 -"- 16 พฤศจิกายน My first DSLR, soon to be arrivedFinally I bit the bullet and bought my first ever DSLR, Pentax K100D Super with kit lens (Pentax 18-55mm). I was afraid that there will be no manufacture warranty because I ordered from overseas but luckily there is 3rd party warranties. So I got myself a 3 year warranty on both the camera body and the kit lens, for $40 USD. Residents in Japan and America are extremely lucky, they get all those top quality stuff for low price. What about us Aussies, we get shit things (or deprecated crap) for premium price. For instance Pentax K100D Super has a $100 mail-in rebate in USA, but I can't claim it, because I don't have a US address. :( Not only that, even without the rebate, it still works out to be cheaper than buying locally. You think that's bad enough? Think again. We are not only paying for the premium price, but we're also getting lower grade products. In this case, the kit lens for the US (and probably the rest of the world) is Pentax 18-55mm, and for Australia? Sigma 18-50mm. Anyway, I've placed the order with Adorama, it should be delivered by next week. I also bought a Kenko Pro1D UV filter on Ebay. Now, what am I gonna do with those accessories I've initially ordered (for the wrong camera model)? :| 14 พฤศจิกายน 囧 50小时未睡 结果囧了。。。囧
前天因为在看数码单反的资料，太投入，结果通宵未睡，连续作战50+小时。结果今天睡醒后发现囧了。本来是打算买宾得K100D Super，所以就先在ebay上买配件（座冲、电池、保护膜）。现在发现只有屏幕保护膜是买对的。座冲和电池都买成K10D的了…… 这难道是上帝旨意要我买K10D么…… K100D和K10D价格相差200多美金呢。>.<

等ebay的seller回复…… >.< 07 พฤศจิกายน 关于DeadlineDeadline是个很有意思的东西。在学校，交作业有deadline，在公司，做项目有deadline。平常生活里做事儿或多或少都有deadline。
我在琢磨，是不是只有我一个人对待不同deadline的态度截然不同。
先说学校的，每次assignment我都是不到最后几天是不会开动的。目前为止失手过一次（一份3D作业太晚开工，没来得及做完善，被可耻的当掉了），其他基本上都“轻松”过关。明天有这学期最后一门考试，这门课程整个学期我大概就去了四、五次，只知道课程大约是在讲些什么，具体的就不得而知了。明天的考试，我今天下午刚开始复习。-_-! 另外上礼拜的那门考试，我也只花了大约2小时复习。
可是——
这阵子刚完成两只项目。我都是一接到工作内容，立刻开始做，对方都诧异我的神速（嘿嘿）。另外以前在公司上班的时候，任务也都是迅速完成。
我觉得我对不同的deadline有着很不同的对待方式。不知道各位JR们是否一样啊？ -__-||| 21 ตุลาคม 就就就要西奈完啦刚搞定最后一份assignment，10天后两门考试，然后这学期就结束啦！木哈哈哈哈哈。。。。
可以开始钻研项目了，可惜这几天网络被限速，啥也干不成。-。-

P.S. 纱布微软，Space做的根渣一样。。。 13 ตุลาคม 时间压缩接近学期末，要做的东西自然而然的多了起来。3D作业基本上没一两个礼拜是完成不了的，但经过老娘的超级无敌完美白金破解版的时间压缩，在两天内就完成了。PHP + Oracle的作业没有一个礼拜也是很难完成的，老娘经过20小时未睡，一把拿下。话说Oracle就是难用啊，MySQL最高！！！娘的连自动进值（auto incrementation）都没有，竟然要手动做sequence。-_-!
累死鸟。。。
前几天看Scrubs花了太多时间了，但是，真是好看啊！可惜08年最后一季后就没了。T___T 09 ตุลาคม 失败啊失败这几天脑袋很麻木，除了看美剧外，几乎没有动力做任何事情。
快速的扫了一下我之前的space blog，发现多数篇幅是抱怨or心情低落。-_-!
已经好久没快乐过了。
越是郁闷，便越是想逃避。明明知道这是懦弱的表现还是一头栽了进去。So，这几天一直是处于精神恍惚状。
看来在毕业前，是没法脱离这人生低谷了……
貌似自闭的老毛病又犯了，现在和谁都不想说话。QQ已经很久没登陆过了，MSN上很少和人聊天。现实生活中也不怎么说话。就感觉整个很没意思，没动力，很压抑。无力啊无力，废柴啊废柴。
写下这些，等过几年再来看看，应该会超级鄙视自己。-。- 21 กันยายน More SitcomsA couple of months ago my cousin introduced me the sitcom Seinfeld, I can't really say that I was hooked but it was certainly very enjoyable. Then I went on watching Friends because my friend Thien mentioned it once or twice, I actually finished watching the entire series in only a couple of weeks. ;)
I then move on to watching Frasier, I didn't know what it was about beforehand but since it was mentioned in Wikipedia as one of the best Americian sitcoms all time, I figured I should watch it. Well all I can say is that it was really good! I just finished watching the finale last night. So I popped onto Wikipedia this morning to find some more sitcom information. I've found Cheers, the sitcom Frasier was derived at, and Back to You, a new sitcom (in fact the pilot was just aired on the 19th, September) featuring Kelsey Grammer, the actor played Dr. Frasier Crane. I was kinda hoping that this sitcom is a spin-off of Frasier since in the finale Dr. Fraiser Crane relocated to a new place once again. Perhaps after 20 years of playing the same character, Kelsey wants a change. ;)
I just can't get enough of the sitcoms once I hooked up, even though I don't get most of the jokes. Sadly western culture does have a huge difference to eastern culture not to mention that many of the jokes are based on American affairs. On the other hand, poker is not gambling. Having said that, I admit there are some luck involved but most of the time you will have to know what you're doing.

I think I am now an average poker player (aka not a n00b any more!). So, I started playing on PartyPoker with play money, then on Absolute Poker with free real money. Then I deposited $50 on PartyPoker to earn more free money which I did. Last night I cashed out $150 and deposited $100 into Titan Poker. It's pretty cool when you know you have nothing to lose. At the moment my Titan balance is $111, it's sick though I need to collect lots of Titan points before I get any free money. :(
Poker is great fun I even bought some poker chips (cheap quality though) to learn to play poker chip tricks. But yeah it took quite a lot of time away from me. I sometimes feel terrible that I didn't do enough work.
Oh by the way, I've played some tournaments. Well, the best I can get from sit-and-go tournaments is 3rd place (in for the prize) on a 10 player table and 2nd place (in for the prize) on a 6 player table. For regular tournaments, because they take so long, I rarely play them. In fact, I only play freerolls lol. The best one I got so far is 111th place in a 669 player tournament. I could have gotten further on that particular tournament though, I had an Ace with a low kicker, went all in, the other guy called me with a deuce and a four. And as you might have guessed, he hit a deuce on the flop (or on the turn, I can't remember exactly) and knocked me out. :/
Anyways, poker will remain as my hobby for a while. :)
UPDATE:
Well, I went to play some more poker after I posted the original article. And guess what, my balance bounced from $111 to $211 now. ;) I received $50 instant bonus from Titan Poker which is part of the promotion, and, very fortuantely, there was a big fish on one of the tables I was playing on. 很好很强大。。。 - - 20 สิงหาคม PokerSo, I play poker. Actually it was my cousin who originally played (and still is playing) poker and dragged me in. We play with play money initially, then thanks to my friend Thien who recommended me a site that gives away free $. The only catch in these free $ is that you'll have to play a certain amount of raked hands before you can cash out the money.
I started playing real money on Absolute Poker because well, the money was free. :) Soon after that I got bored with AP because the interface really sucks so I gave my account to my cousin and apparently he sucks at Blackjack so he lost a few $$.
Then I thought, oh well, since we were playing with play money on PartyPoker - one of the biggest poker rooms, I might as well deposit some money. So I depoisted $65AUD (around $52.87 USD). I need 100 Party Points to get another $125 free money offered by the other site.
For the last three days I've been playing, I earned 48 points already, but the balance was about $50 which means I lost $2 overall. It was all because of last night, when I was writing my uni essay, I wasn't 100% concentrated, so I went all-in twice with $5 each, and lost both hands to the same guy (he must have been laught so hard).
Today, I played some more on the lowest stake tables ($0.02/$0.04 no limit) as usual. There was one time the guy went all-in with 50 cents, and I had pocket Jacks so I called. It turned out that he had A and 2 diamonds, and the damn river was another diamonds which made him a flush! >.< Oh well, but not long enough later, the same guy went all-in again with $1, but this time I was on a diamond flush, so I called. Miracle happned at the river again! I counter-flushed him! Muhahahaha....
Now if you think that's it, think again. ;) Just about I was going to start working on my uni assignment, I thought, what the hell I might as well give the higher stakes a try.
I went to a $0.10/$0.25 Jackpot table, after I sat down the system told me that every round will get charged an additional 50 cents to fund the Jackpot, oh well, I cbf'ed so I left.
Then I joined a normal $0.10/$0.25 no limit table. I sat down, wait patiently for my big blind. Alright, here came my big blind, an Ace and a Ten, woot no bad at all!
